Coach Bowls provides a range of training on behalf of Safeguarding Bowls to support clubs and county associations to provide a safe environment for all participants. This includes courses for those who work with junior bowlers and adults at risk.
Safeguarding Bowls is comprised of Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd, British Crown Green Bowling Association, English Short Mat Bowling Association, English Bowling Federation and Bowls Development Alliance with support from the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit.
Safeguarding Bowls has developed a range of templates and useful documents for clubs including a Safeguarding Officer job description, guidance on how to recruit personnel safely and details of local groups who can provide support at Club, County and National level.
The guidance produced by Safeguarding Bowls also includes information on safeguarding good practice, together with details on the process to be followed if a situation arises and advice on the support that is available.
To save clubs time developing their own, a range of templates are available to download which can be utilised by your own club.
