Safeguarding: Officer Training

This new 4 hour module covers all the information that any Safeguarding Officer may need to help them fulfil this vital role in their club or County. It includes some basic safeguarding awareness for both adults and children, along with how to make a club a safer place for everyone, roles and responsibilities and highlights help and support. This course replaces the old ‘Time to Listen’ course which focussed purely on children.

Course Overview:

You have a vital role as the Club Safeguarding Officer in supporting your club to achieve their safeguarding aims and this module helps with that role. this module will cover all members, children or adults. If you intend to work with schoolchildren in taster sessions, this module is a must. Your club open day is likely to be open to all visiting, so be confident that you have practises in place in order to keep them safe. The module will help with supporting the club when you have visiting teams.

The safeguarding module has been developed to work in collaboration with Bowls England, The English Indoor Bowling Association (EIBA), The Bowls Development Alliance (BDA), English Short Mat Bowling Association (ESMBA), The British Crown Green Bowling Association (BCGBA), English Bowling Federation (EBF) and Disability Bowls England (DBE).
